INSTILLING VALUES IN CHILDREN

All parents wish to be the best to their children.  All parents are attempting to instill values as part of the preparation of their children to confront the challenges that they will that they will have during their lives (work, family, community, society, etc.).  However, albeit the good intentions, we think that there is lack of clear tools to be used by parents as an educator.   Thus, we have developed two tools that might help them become a better parents and educators.  We have prepared a Tale for children, based on our triaxial model of values, and a booklet/guide for parents prepared by Dr. Anat Garti, the number 1 coach and family therapist in Israel.

It is crucial to instill  good principles in your children as the world becomes more complex, allowing them to make a positive difference in the world. You can always get them interested  in it to start. Consequently, through games and narratives

So, what is the magic Carpet and the Islands of Values all about?

We all love tales. In this illustrated book we share the lives of three brothers of the same family that the magic carpet takes them to a quick tour to 3 different islands, each of which has a particular dominating culture:

  • The red Island ,where people are super industrious and spend the vast majority of their life working…. Working…,. And working….(but neglect or no pay sufficient attention to other important aspects of life)
  • The Blue Island , where people are super respective and friendly to each other ……….(but neglect or no pay sufficient attention other important aspects of life)
  • The Green Island where people spend most of their life  having fun and games ……….(but neglect or no pay sufficient attention other important aspects of life)

In each of these islands the three kids experience adventure and the  respective consequences of not integrating other values in their lives.  We can describe more about the content but wish to leave the elements of surprise and discovery to you (the parent or the educator) and of course to the children.  A short video clip explains the objectives of this amazingly illustrated tale  at https://vimeo.com/89085279
